About the Chamber
The Zapata County Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1948, has been an active leader in the communities of Zapata County. The Chamber’s leadership has helped mold present days in Zapata County. The Zapata County Chamber of Commerce must continue its effort in promoting all of the resources the county has to offer to the thousands of visitors from throughout Texas, the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
- To provide vision and leadership to develop, promote and protect the resources and interests of tourism, business, and workforce development in Zapata County.
- To encourage the orderly development of capital resources, including human resources, financial capital, and infrastructure in Zapata County.
- To make Zapata County the most business-friendly region in Texas and enhance our members’ success through aggressive programs of advocacy, member benefits and services, and actionable information. To be a proactive force to ensure the success of the Zapata County area.

The Chamber is headed by a Board of Directors elected by membership. The Board is made up of nine (7-9) members three of whom are elected for a three year term. The Board appoints officers.

The Zapata County Chamber of Commerce has approximately 250 business members. As the county grows the number of businesses in the community increases and so does the membership of the Chamber. Being proactive the Chamber must be ready to deliver products and services that the members need.
